About Bob
Hurd
Bob Hurd has served as
a teacher, composer and liturgist in various pastoral
and academic settings, including the Franciscan School
of Theology, Berkeley, California, the Graduate Pastoral
Ministries Program at Santa Clara University and St. Patrick
Seminary, Menlo Park, California. His liturgical music
is published by Oregon Catholic Press (OCP) and is feature
in numberous hymnals in the United States, Canada, Great
Britain and Australia. Bob's articles have appeared in
several publications, he is a contributor to two books
and he holds a doctorate from De Paul University in Chicago.
Bob's music reflects his
commitment to peace and social justice. Bob's involvement
with Nevada Desert Experience began more than twenty years
ago through his participation at Test Site events and
music benefits.
About Janèt
Sullivan Whitaker
A native of Berkeley,
California, Janèt Sullivan Whitaker
composes music for the Catholic liturgical assembly, and
for the ecumentical concert settings. Janèt holds
a B.A. in Music from California State University, Hayward
(1999). A singer, pianist, percussionist and recording
artist, Janèt s music is published by OCP.
For the past five years,
Janèt has served as Director of Music and liturgy
at Corpus Christi Church in Piedmont. She continues to
write music for her home Diocese of Oakland, and for the
global church of today.
