LV Review Journal: Nothing Deters Peace Walkers


The weather has been brisk and windy, sometimes sunny, sometimes overcast.

The vast desert welcomes us, the road stretches far ahead, the mountains witness our journey.

Kamillah led a countering oppressions workshop in the afternoon and in the evening Brother Yacub K. Mustafa of Masjid As-Sabur mosque spoke to us about Islam and taught us Muslim Prayers toward Mecca.

March 29

It felt so good to finally be out in the desert. It was sunny, cool, clear and windy today as the walk continued in the desert to the Desert National Wildlife Refuge (DNWR) at Corn Creek. Mark Serna, O.S.B. of the Benedictine tradition spoke to us about desert spirituality and the meaning of pilgrimage. The local Fox television affiliate and Spanish language press interviewed us.

























Walkers met around the fire and started planning the nonviolent action for
Sunday at the Test Site.
